 Create and format slides
 Insert text, images, and charts
 Apply animations and transitions

What is a Presentation Package?
A presentation package is software used to
create visual aids for communication.
Examples: Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides,
LibreOffice Impress.
PowerPoint is the most widely used tool.
Microsoft PowerPoint Interface
PowerPoint interface includes:
Title Bar
Ribbon Tabs (Home, Insert, Design...)
 Slides Pane
 Notes Pane
 Status Bar
Creating a New Presentation
To create a new presentation:
1. Open PowerPoint
2. Click 'New'
3. Choose Blank Presentation or a
Template
Understanding Slides and Layouts
Slides are individual pages in a presentation.
Layouts define how content is arranged on a
slide.
Common layouts: Title Slide, Title and Content,
Two Content.
Saving and Opening Presentations
Save your work regularly.
Use File > Save or Ctrl+S.
File formats: .pptx (default), .pdf, .odp.
Adding Text Boxes
• Use 'Insert > Text Box' to add text anywhere.
• Text can be formatted, resized, and positioned
freely.
Formatting Text
• Select the text and use the Home tab to
format.
• Font, Size, Color, Bold, Italic, Alignment etc.
Using Bullets and Numbering
• Bullets and numbering make lists clear.
• Home > Paragraph group > Bullets or
Numbering.
Inserting Images and Clip Art
• Insert images from your computer or online.
• Insert > Pictures > This Device / Online
Pictures.
Inserting Shapes and SmartArt
• Shapes: Insert > Shapes (rectangles, arrows,
etc.)
• SmartArt: Visual representation of data or
process.
Adding Tables and Charts
• Insert > Table or Chart.
• Useful for presenting data visually.
Adjusting Objects
• Click and drag to resize or move.
• Use 'Bring Forward' or 'Send Backward' for
layering.
Applying Themes and Design Templates
• Design tab provides ready themes.
• Choose theme colors and fonts for
consistency.
Slide Backgrounds and Color Schemes
• Right-click slide > Format Background.
• Use solid, gradient, or picture fills.
Adding Transitions
• Transitions control how slides change.
• Transitions tab > Choose effect > Apply To All.
Applying Animations
• Animations make text and objects appear
dynamically.
• Animations tab > Select effect > Preview.
Running a Slide Show
• Start presentation: Slide Show > From
Beginning or press F5.
• ESC to end the show.
Using Presenter View
• Presenter View shows notes, next slide, and
timer.
• Useful for rehearsing and delivering
presentations.
Tips for Effective Delivery

Printing Slides and Handouts
• File > Print > Settings.
• Choose Full Page, Notes, or Handouts layout.
