MANGALYAAN

The mangalyaan or Mars Space Orbiter is a space
probe that has been orbiting Mars since 24th
September 2014. It was launced on November 5th
What is 2013, it was created by Indian Space Research
Organization (ISRO), the cost was $75 Million USD,
Mangalyaan the cheapest satellite to ever reach Mars. This was
a great success for India.
After India’s prior failure of the Fatboy Moon mission
of leaving the Earth’s atmosphere, India’s space
organization was deemed as a failure. India was
made fun of, and was classified as joke. India
needed the success of the Mars mission to prove the
WHY DOES world, that they could help space expoloration. The
INDIA NEED Mars mission was planned to launch between 2021
and 2022, but the leader of India Mars mission and
MANGALYAA FatBoy, Swati Mohan begged ISRO to send the
N? money to make it. At first ISRO was very hesitant,
but eventually they sent a team of rookies to
participate for Mohan’s team. After mission Mangal,
India was known as one of the most successful
countries, reaching Mars in their first try.
After 8 years, Mangalyaan is still active and still
THE orbiting Mars till date. It provides us information
about the atmosphere of Mars, and sends pictures
MISSION to Earth. Mangalyaan is also used to find out if
NOW Mars could be inhabited by humans in the
nearbfuture.
WHY DO The mission gave hope to thousands of Indians, and
it showed India is a great country in space, and
PEOPLE innovation. This benefited millions of people who
SUPPORT contributed in the mission. This truly made India a
great country in space.
