PERU (REPUBLIC OF PERU) IS THE THIRD


LARGEST STATE IN SOUTH AMERICA. IT IS
BORDERED BY CHILE, BRAZIL, BOLIVIA,
ECUADOR, AND COLOMBIA. LIMA IS THE

INCA RUINS

Inca ruins in the Cuzco is a must visit destination


in Peru. It is said that you can only claim that you
have been to Peru if you have visited the Inca
ruins.

MACHU PICCHU

Machu Picchu is known to be the "lost city of the


Incas." It is an archaeological site that one must
not forget to visit (Rachawiecki, 2011). It is a
UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage site
and an iconic tourist destination of the country (

Sun) put great value on gold and silver because
of its symbolic significance. Gold represents the
"sweat of the sun"; Sapa Inca was the son of Sun
(Inti). Silver is said to be the "tears of the moon";

INTI RAYMI

• Inti Raymi in Quechua means "Fiesta del Sol" (Sun


Festival), a festival to worship the Sun god of Inca
culture. This is held in Sacsayhuaman citadel. Danza
de tijeras (Scissors dance) is inscribed as a UNESCO
Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
VENEZUELA
(BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA) IS A

Sopa de mondongo (also known as
Chas) is a soup that originally came
from Colombia, Puerto Rico and the
Dominican Republic. It is made from
diced tripe (the stomach of a cow or pig
or a Chas) slow-cooked with vegetables
such as bell peppers, onions, carrots,
cabbage, celery, tomatoes, cilantro,
garlic or root vegetables. The dish is
generally prepared in former Spanish
colonies in Latin America, Caribbean,
and in the Philippines. The proposed
etymology for mondongo is in the
African Kikongo language, meaning
“intestines, entrails of certain animals.

Pabellón criollo (Spanish


pronunciation: [paβeˈʝoŋ ˈkɾjo.ʝo]) is a
traditional Venezuelan dish that is
considered the national dish. It mixes
elements from the three different
cultures that intermixed during Spanish
colonial times: Native Americans,
Spanish and Africans. The name is a
synonym to flag, since it was one of the
main original associations. It is a plate
of rice, shredded beef in stew and
stewed black beans.

TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL
PARK
• is a national park encompassing mountains, glaciers, lakes,
and rivers in southern Chilean Patagonia. The
Cordillera del Paine is the centerpiece of the park. It lies in a
transition area between the Magellanic subpolar forests and
the Patagonian Steppes. The park is located 112 km (70 mi)
north of Puerto Natales and 312 km (194 mi) north of
Punta Arenas. The park borders
Bernardo O'Higgins National Park to the west and the Los
Glaciares National Park to the north in Argentine
territory. Paine means "blue" in the native Tehuelche
(Aonikenk) language and is pronounced PIE-neh.[4] It was
established as a National Park in 1959.
