Free Attractions in Los Angeles
1) LA BREA TAR PITS: One of the world's most famous fossil sites with more than 3 million fossils where huge mammoths, fierce saber toothed cats, and giant ground sloths became trapped and entombed in the asphalt that has been seeping out of the ground for the past 40,000 years. Can visit Page museum and museum of natural history for $14.50 with a
student ID. Museum of natural history has free Tuesday admissions. Must check website to see which Tuesday is Free.
2) KOREAN BELL OF FRIENDSHIP: Intricate reliefs represent spirits and goddesses of liberty, victory and peace, while architectural details impart the colorful nature of Korean culture. Best visited on a clear, sunny day for a picnic and a stroll, the area features pristine views complemented by the yachts and charter boats of the harbor below.

3) CATHEDRAL OF OUR LADY OF ANGELS: This is one of LAs most innovative buildings, and although its the third-largest cathedral in the country, its able to inspire visitors with its warm, inviting interior perfect for introspection. Free guided
tour are on Monday-Friday at 1 pm.
4) HIGHLIGHTS AT WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL: A brief tour of LA's cultural icon.
Can get a self guided tour (10- 2 pm) or a guided tour (12 and 1 pm). Can also have a tour of 4 theaters Tuesdays- Saturday at 10:30 and 12:30. Tours take 60-90 minutes. Must check website to verify day of tour.
5) VENICE CANALS: Winding through quaint little (and very expensive) houses, the canals feature arched bridges, the occasional gondolier and LAs beautiful weather, all of which contribute to the serenity of the canals. All in all, its a great place to cruise along on a bike. Start between Washington Avenue and Venice Boulevard.

6) USC AND EXPOSITION PARK WALKING TOUR: To begin this walking tour, park the car in Exposition Park Lot 3, located on the west side of Menlo Avenue just south of Exposition and east of Vermont. To get there, take the Exposition exit off the Harbor Freeway (I-110) and head west or take the F DASH south from the 7th Street/Metro Center station. 1. Natural History Museum of LAAn extensive collection of more than 35 million specimens in this cultural institution covers 4.5 billion years of history. The all-new, 14,000-square-foot Dinosaur Hall is twice the size of the Museums old dinosaur galleries. It rivals the worlds leading dinosaur halls for the number of individual fossils displayed. 2. Rose Garden- (closes Jan 1- March 15) opens from 9 am to sunset.

10) JAPANESE AMERICAN NATIONAL MUSEUM: Internationally recognized for its commitment to exploring the meaning of Americas ethnic and cultural diversity by presenting and sharing the experience of Japanese Americans with exhibitions, public programs, award-winning museum store, and resource center. Open T,W, F,S, and Sun from 115pm. TH are from 12-8 pm. Student admission is $8 but every TH from 5-8 pm and every third TH of the month its FREE!
11) LOS ANGELES MUSEUM OF THE HOLOCAUST 12) TRAVEL TOWN MUSEUM:Dedicated to the preservation and celebration of railroading in the western United States, featuring displays of historic steam locomotives, passenger cars and trolleys. 13) GETTY CENTER:Overlooking the California coastline and the L.A. skyline, the Getty Center surrounds guests with breathtaking views and a world-class art collection including European paintings, contemporary photographs and decorative arts. 14) GETTY VILLA:An educational center and museum in Malibu dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome and Etruria. 15) FIDM:The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandisings collection of more than 10,000 costumes, accessories and textiles from the 18th century through the present day includes film and theater costumes.

Rose Parade/Bowl
Area 1 tickets are $90 while the rest are $65.
Tickets go on sale Feb. 1st
Pay an extra $10 and see the floats as they have the final touches done or see the floats up close once the parade ends. Parade starts at 8:00 am. Rose bowl tickets can be bought at ticketmaster. Tickets are $150-175.
