INTERNET

The internet, sometimes simply called

the net, is a worldwide system of
interconnected computer networks
and electronic devices that
communicate with each other using
an established set of protocols
WWW
• The World Wide Web -- also known as the web, WWW or
W3 -- refers to all the public websites or pages that users
can access on their local computers and other devices
through the internet.

• These pages and documents are interconnected by

means of hyperlinks that users click on for information.
This information can be in different formats, including text,
images, audio and video.
Key Parts of the Web
• URL (Uniform Resource Locator): This is the address of a
webpage, like https://www.example.com./ It tells your
browser exactly where to find the page.
• HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol): This is the set of
rules that lets your browser and the server talk to each
other to send and receive webpages.
• HTML (Hypertext Markup Language): This is the code
that tells browsers how to display a webpage, including
where to put text, pictures, and links
Working of World Wide Web(WWW)
• A Web browser is used to access web pages. Web
browsers can be defined as programs which display text,
data, pictures, animation and video on the Internet.
Hyperlinked resources on the World Wide Web can be
accessed using software interfaces provided by Web
browsers. Initially, Web browsers were used only for
surfing the Web but now they have become more
universal.
WEB BROWSER
The web browser is an application software used to explore the World Wide Web (WWW). It acts as a platform that
allows users to access information from the Internet by serving as an interface between the client (user) and the
server. The browser sends requests to servers for web documents and services, then renders the received HTML
content, including text, images, links, styles, and scripts.

Working of World Wide Web
• The below diagram indicates how the Web operates just
like client-server architecture of the internet. When users
request web pages or other information, then the web
browser of your system request to the server for the
information and then the web server provide requested
services to web browser back and finally the requested
service is utilized by the user who made the request.

Web page
• A web page or webpage is a document, commonly written
in HTML (hypertext markup language) viewed in an
Internet browser. A web page can be accessed by
entering a URL (uniform resource locator) address into a
browser's address bar. A web page may contain text,
graphics, and hyperlinks to other web pages and files.
Web page
• A web page provides information to viewers, including
pictures or videos to help illustrate important topics. A web
page may also be used as a method to sell products or
services to viewers. Multiple web pages make up a
website, like our Computer Hope website.

• For example, you access a web page when you click a

link provided by a search engine. The Internet consists of
millions of web pages, with more being added daily.
