COMPANY'S VISION & MISSION
VISION
To be a leading chemicals company in the segments we operate in, focusing on basic and performance driven
chemicals in the technology driven global markets.

MISSION
1. Add value to our stakeholders, both external and internal, by Delivering products and solutions based on natural
resources to our customers
2. Empowering our people and enabling them to be creative, responsible, and accountable
3. Being responsible citizens through our commitment to safety, health, environment, sustainability, and our
community
COMPANY INTRODUCTION
• Established in 1970s in KHAVDA, Rann of Kutch Solaris Chemtech Industries Limited (SCIL) is 100 %
subsidary of Agrocel industries PVT LTD and part of excel group of companies has emerged as a leader in
bromine and marine based chemical, specializing in the production of Indian specialty chemicals and plant and
feed nutrition.

• Leadership in Bromine Production

As a leader in India’s bromine-based marine chemical industry and the fourth largest bromine manufacturer
globally, Agrocel leverages its unique resources and processing capabilities. The acquisition of Solaris Chemtech
has further strengthened its resource base, enabling the company to manufacture bromine in two distinct
locations using different processes. This not only enhances Agrocel’s competitive edge but also underscores its
commitment to sustainable practices, with its primary raw material, sea bittern, being self-renewable.
EXPOSURE OF DIFFERNET PLANTS

• Bromine Plants(k1,k2,k3,k4,k5)

• nPBr Plant(N-Propyl Bromide)

• HBr Plant(Hydrogen Bromide)

WORK PERMIT SYSTEM

• HEIGHT WORK PERMIT : A height work permit is required when working at heights above a certain level.
The level is set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and varies depending on the type
of work being done. According to the OSHA, height is decided as above 1.8 meters.

• HOT WORK PERMIT: A hot work permit is a legal document that is required in certain situations where work
is being performed that may generate heat, sparks, or flames.

• VESSEL AND CONFINED SPACE PERMIT: This permit relates to entry into any enclosed space and should
be completed by the responsible person and by any persons entering the space

• LOTO WORK : LOTO, also referred to as "Lock-Out Tag-Out", is a safety procedure used in industry to ensure
that hazardous machinery/situations is properly locked before starting maintenance

• HEAVY WEIGHT WORK: An heavy weight permit is a necessary document that must be obtained before
starting any heavy work. This permit is required when Weight is more than 2 tons.
POWER GENERATION

Solaris Chemtech has significantly strengthened its energy infrastructure by

commissioning two in-house thermal power generation stations with a total
installed capacity of 7.675 MW, These include:
•A 6.4 MW thermal power unit
•A 1.275 MW thermal power unit
Both power stations are based on Atmospheric Fluidized Bed Combustion
(AFBC) boiler technology, which offers superior efficiency and cleaner
combustion compared to conventional boilers. The AFBC system enables the
effective burning of a wide range of fuels with lower emissions, better fuel
flexibility, and enhanced thermal efficiency.
By utilizing AFBC technology, Solaris Chemtech not only ensures a stable and
reliable power supply for its industrial operations but also promotes energy
efficiency and environmental sustainability. This strategic investment in captive
power generation reduces dependence on external power sources, enhances
operational control, and supports long-term cost savings.
AFBC(Atmospheric Fluidized Bed Combustion) BOILER SYSTEM
• An AFBC(Atmospheric Fluidized Bed Combustion) boiler system is used for both generating station(6.4Mw
&1.275Mw)

• In Atmospheric Fluidized Bed Combustion(AFBC) bed material is crucial component that facilitates efficient and
stable combustion, it is typically composed of inert, granular materials like silica sand, limestone, or custom
refractory materials.

• An AFBC boilers works by burning fuel in a bed of crushed material, that is suspended by a stream of air.

• This process, called fluidization, allows for efficient and complete combustion, even with lower-grade fuels, and
offers advantages in terms of reduced emissions and fuel flexibility.
TYPES OF FUEL(COAL) IS USED

• During internship at Solaris Chemtech I visited the fuel management plant within of plant and one of the key
observation was related to the types of coal used as primary fuel source for the electricity generation.

• Lignite coal which is abundantly available and locally sourced, is preferred for its lower cost and accessibility,
however due to its lower calorific value and higher moisture content it is often blended with imported coal, which
possesses a higher calorific value and better combustion properties.

• Solaris utilizes a dual-coal strategy, employing both lignite coal and imported coal to meet its operational
requirements the ratio of dual-coal is 65:35 they used 65% of imported coal and the 35% of lignite coal, they use
dual-coal strategy only for 6.4Mw power plant or say 45 TPH boiler, and for 1.275Mw plant or say 15 TPH boiler
they used lignite coal.
