Short Service Workers (SSW)
Siapakah Short Service Worker (SSW)?
• Pekerja kontraktor yang mempunyai pengalaman kerja berterusan kurang daripada 6
bulan di mana-mana lokasi kerja EMEPMI

Mengapakah program SSW penting?

• Program untuk menjaga pekerja yang berada di tempat kerja / budaya kerja yang baru

• Setibanya di mana-mana lokasi EMEPMI, SSW dikehendaki untuk memenuhi semua

keperluan Program SSW:
o Taklimat SSW / Orientasi ER
o Pemakaian topi keselamatan merah SSW
o Menyempurnakan senarai kerja (checklist) SSW / ER
o Penetapan Work Buddy
 Laluan menyelamatkan diri, tempat berkumpul utama & tempat berkumpul
alternatif
 Lokasi bilik kawalan
 Lokasi-lokasi eye wash stations
 Langkah-langkah bertindak ketika kecemasan
 Kawasan di mana PPE tambahan perlu dipakai
 Kawasan bunyi bising (high noise area)

 Lengkapkan SSW/ER Checklist.

33
Work Buddy Expectation and R&R
• Preferably, someone from same work group as the SSW:

 Min. 1 year work experience in line with the SSW skill set as they are freelancers.

• Task familiarization & hazard identification at worksite:

 Ensure SSW reviews permit pack and understands work procedure and JSA

• Coach on the EM Safety expectation & CPRS:

 SSW empowered to stop work anytime if condition is unsafe / changes
 SSW to intervene if notice an unsafe behavior / condition

• Provide close supervision and coach using the Safety Tools:

 SPSA, UCUX, STOP Work, Risk Assessment, IPO and etc.
 Note, to ensure quality of UCUX & Intervention submitted by SSW

• Do a quality IPO on the SSW, which is relevant and in detail to the scope:
 Conduct AAR along with EMCo FLS

• If Buddy has to leave SSW momentarily / for a span of time, additional mitigation measures must be in place
 Buddy needs to highlight to the FLS and ensure a handover is done at site to supervise the SSW.

General Guide Line:

1. Early engagement among SSW, Buddy & EMCo FLS to review the SSW evaluation form.
• Note, not one day before or on the day of SSW de-mob.
2. SSW must follow up and with Contractor FLS to ensure SSW Evaluation Form and IPO is:
• Scanned and the copy is recorded in the SSW folder.
• Scanned copy to be forward to EMCo FLS.
3. Prior to SSW de-mob, EMCo FLS to consolidate the SSW KPI tracking and forward to:
• i) EMCo Safety Lead ii) Contractor Mgmt. along with,
o SSW KPI tracking sheet.
o Scanned copy SSW Evaluation Form and IPO.
