introduction
• This paper presents a simulation and practical
arrangement of the system to demonstrate how it can be
implemented as a fire prevention equipment.
• There are several causes of a fire incidence including
short circuits, leaking gas, inadequate fire protection
system, or lack of effective fire alarm, etc. These factors
must be weighed in order to build a fire prevention
system model.

ts of
Flame Gas
Sensor Sensor
A. Flame sensor
•The flame sensor is a device that is mainly designed for
detecting the presence of flame or fire where it is placed.
•The flame sensor uses the infrared flame flash method
which allows working through the vapor, dust, oil
coating, etc.
•This flame sensor can respond faster and more
accurately than a heat sensor for its mechanism.
•When the sensor detects flame or fires it sends a signal
to the microcontroller and the microcontroller
simultaneously active the buzzer & sends a notification
to the authority through the GSM module.
B. Gas sensor
• In this design, we use MQ-2 as a gas or smoke
detector sensor. It has a high sensitivity to detect
LPG, Smoke, Propane, Methane, Alcohol, and
Carbon Monoxide.
• It can detect the flammable gas having a
concentration of 300-10000ppm
the central processing
unit
Arduino UNO
• Arduino UNO is an ATmega38P microchip-based
microcontroller.
• It has 6 analog input pins and 14
digitalinput/output pins (of which 6 pins can be
used as PWM output).
• It can be programmed with the help of Arduino
IDE using a type B USB cable.

GSM Modules Buzzer
Electric Gas Magnetic
Valve Contactor
A. GSM Modules
• GSM module is a device that is used to establish
communication between a mobile or GSM-based
device and a GSM system. In this system.
• A SIM can be inserted in the module to send
signals, messages, or to make calls. The main
features of the GSM module are improved
spectrum efficiency, high-quality speech, use of
encryption to make calls more secure,
international roaming, compatibility with
integrated services digital network.
B. Buzzer
• The buzzer is an audio signaling device alarm,
also known as a beeper. It may be either
mechanical, electromechanical, or piezoelectric.
• It converts electrical energy into sound energy
with the help of transistors & capacitors.
• It is widely used in alarm & timer circuits. In our
system, it is used to get alerts when the sensor
detects smoke or fire.
C. Electric Gas Valve
• The electric gas valve is a high-quality solenoid
valve that is used to control the flow of gas.
• A servo motor is integrated which operates
according to the received signal from the
microcontroller to control the valve.
• In our system, we use this electric valve to
control the flow of the main gas valve when
leakage smoke or fire is detected in the sensor.
D. Magnetic Contactor
• A magnetic contactor or relay is a switching
device.
• The magnetic contactor can be operated over
1KA, and the relay can be operated below 1A.
• A magnetic contactor is nothing but a robust
version of the relay.
• In this system when smoke or fire is detected,
the microcontroller sends a signal to this
magnetic contactor or relay to turn off the main
supply of electricity.
CONCLUSION
• In developing countries like ours, the implementation of automatic fire
extinguishing system in the industry for the safety of workers has become a
necessity.
• In this paper, we have proposed a microcontroller-based automated fire
protection system that can detect any fire source and take immediate action
to prevent it. At the same time, the system can also send an alert notification
to the authority within a very short time to take extra measures.
• This system can be also used for the safety of households and any other
establishment. Our next approach would be to develop the system with IoT
and also to design a smart emergency evacuation system during a fire
incident.
