What is CAS?
● Opportunity to have the things you do outside of academics
recognized
● Opportunity to try some new activities
● Chance to build a reciprocal relationship with others through
service
● Chance to show your creative side.

Students choose a variety of CAS Experiences throughout your


Diploma Programme beyond your study that meet your CAS
requirements.

Students have FREE choice on the experiences they wish to


pursue.

Some activities are multiple strands, e.g. Sewing face-masks would be Creativity and
Service. A sponsored swim would be Activity and Service.

Recording, Communicating and Reflecting
The way that you show you are meeting the expectations and the learning
outcomes.

WHAT: Record which experiences you are undertaking, or planning on. (some
will need approval)

WHY: Show you are meeting your learning outcomes.

FEELINGS: What impact it had on you as a person.

NEXT: What this might change for you in the future.

You can: Write, photograph, vlog, podcast, etc (see calendar for links Ways
to reflect) and post them on your blog (Blogger, Wix, Wordpress, and so on)

You can: Do it on your own, with a friend, with a group, with a teacher.

We will (your adviser, Pak Yudho, and Ibu Nadya): Help you and
suggest ideas.

What makes a CAS Experience?
● Interesting or Fun for you
● Can fit C, A or S *
● Expect to meet one or more of the LOs*

NOT:
● Paid work
● Part of your academic programme
● Dangerous
● Unethical!

Student CAS Requirements
❏ Meet all the Learning Outcomes
❏ Balance of C, A and S
❏ One Project (a more indepth experience)
❏ Reflect and Record
❏ Meet for 3 interviews
❏ 18 Months Continual Involvement - how often?
You need to be involved with any (one or all)
of the strands at least every week.

Typical Programme
Term 1 Get started. Continue any activities you do and record them. Try
something new.

Term 2 and Review your balance, stop anything you have completed and try
3 something else. Start and complete a CAS Project.

Holiday Reflect and review. Fill in any Gaps. Undertake something different
on your own or with friends.

Term 4 Find a balance. Anything need changing? Stick with what you are
passionate about. Are you having enough fun?

Term 5 Final Stages. Have you completed your requirements? Finish your
portfolio.

Term 6 You should have completed requirements and you can focus on your
exams but use your CAS experiences to take a break if they are
something you love and enjoy.

different experiences and those can serve as a guide for you to
