The Israel-Palestine conflict, which began in 1948 with the creation of Israel and the displacement of Palestinians, remains one of the world's most complex and enduring conflicts, marked by violence and humanitarian crises, particularly in Gaza. Recent escalations in 2023-2024 have led to significant civilian casualties and destruction, exacerbating the already dire humanitarian situation. Despite global divisions in response and ongoing suffering, there remains hope for peace through dialogue, respect for human rights, and international support.

INTRODUCT
ION
• the state of Israel in 1948, hundreds of the
Israel–Palestine conflict is one of the
longest-running and most complex conflicts
in the world. It began in the early 20th
century, mainly over land, national identity,
and control of important religious sites.
After the creation of the state Palestinians
were displaced, leading to decades of
violence, wars, and political tension. Today,
the conflict continues, with repeated
violence—especially in Gaza—and deep
suffering for civilians on both sides.
ISRAEEL AND PALESTINE
HISTORICAL
BACKGROUND
• The conflict began in 1948, when the
state of Israel was created, and
over 700,000 Palestinians were
forced to flee or were expelled from
their homes—a tragedy known as
the Nakba (Arabic for
“catastrophe”). This created deep
resentment and became the
foundation of the ongoing struggle
between Palestinians seeking a
homeland and Israelis seeking
security.
IT BEGAN IN 1948
GAZA AND
HUMANITARIAN
CRISIS

• Gaza is under a strict blockade by

Israel (and Egypt), which limits the
movement of people and goods. As
a result, over 2 million Palestinians
face severe shortages of clean
water, electricity, food, and
medical supplies. The healthcare
system is overwhelmed, and many
live in poverty and fear, especially
during times of war and airstrikes.
The UN has called Gaza “ unlivable”

RECENT WAR ESCALATION
In 2023–2024, violence between
Israel and Hamas sharply escalated.
After a surprise Hamas attack, Israel
launched massive airstrikes and a
ground invasion in Gaza. Thousands
of civilians were killed, homes were
destroyed, and basic services like
hospitals collapsed under the
pressure. The fighting has caused one
of the worst humanitarian crises in
years.
IMPACT ON
CIVILIANS
The war has taken a heavy toll on
innocent civilians, especially in
Gaza. Thousands have been
killed or injured, many of them
women and children. Homes,
schools, and hospitals have been
destroyed. Families are forced to
flee with no safe place to go. The
psychological trauma and loss are
deep and long-lasting. "Civilians trapped in constant
fear."
GLOBAL
RESPONCE
• The international response to the
Israel–Palestine (like the U.S.) support
Israel’s right to defconflict is deeply
divided.
• Some countries end itself.
• Others (like many in the Arab world)
condemn Israeli attacks and support
Palestinian rights.
• The United Nations has called for
ceasefires and humanitarian aid, but
resolutions are often blocked.
• Mass protests around the world
demand peace and justice for
Palestinians.
HOPE FOR
PEACE
• Despite decades of conflict, many
people—Palestinians, Israelis, and
global citizens—still hope for a
peaceful future.
Peace depends on:
• Ending violence and occupation
• Respecting human rights
• Open dialogue and negotiations
Past efforts like the Oslo Accords
showed peace is possible, but
lasting change needs justice,
equality, and international
"Peace begins with equal rights." support.
CONCLUSION
The Israel–Palestine conflict is not just a political struggle—it is a
deeply human tragedy that has lasted for over 75 years. It began
with a fight over land and identity, but has grown into a cycle of
violence, displacement, and suffering for millions of people—
especially in Gaza and the West Bank.
Today, civilians on both sides continue to pay the highest price.
Children grow up surrounded by fear, homes are destroyed, and
communities are left without access to basic needs like water,
electricity, and healthcare. The recent escalations have only
deepened the humanitarian crisis, especially in Gaza.
