DIFFERENT SPORTS HEALTH CONDITIONS:
•Dehydration- refers to excessive loss of water from
the body. This condition may be experienced when exercising in
environments that has an extremely hot temperature.

•Overexertion or overtraining- It refers to the


detrimental cause of excessive training that is actually
independent of weather conditions.

Hypothermia- is a medical emergency that occurs when
your body loses heat faster than it can produce heat,
causing a dangerously low body temperature. Normal body
temperature is around 98.6 F (37 C). Hypothermia occurs
as your body temperature falls below 95 F (35 C).

• Hyperthermia- also known simply as overheating, is


a condition in which an individual's body temperature
is elevated beyond normal due to failed ...

1. Dehydration refers to excessive loss of water from the body, usually through perspiration or sweating,
urination, or evaporation.
2. Sweat is the by-product of perspiration.
3. On a normal day, your body loses about 8.5 litres of water from the lungs, skin, urine, feces and from

4. To offset fluid losses, it is suggested that 150 to 250ml of fluid should be taken every 50 minutes.
