Maritime English is a common tool of communication
used by the seafarers both at sea and in port and by
people who work in the shipping and shipbuilding
industry. Maritime English also known as Standard
marine Communication Phrases (SMCP).

SMCP stands for Standard Marine Communication

Maritime English. The phrases arranged in the
SMCP are very useful for all modern conditions at
sea. The non-native English speakers can be
supported by the set of phrases developed.
