WILSON’S MODEL
Walson’s tried to operationalise Donabedian
model into a practical form
He redefined it as input, methods and
outcome
Input- people or personnel
Methods- Everyday Practice i.e Professional
skill
Outcomes- Quality of Service and client
satisfaction
Joint Commission 10 step process
This method involve 10 steps
1. Assign responsibilities
2. Delineate scope of care/ services
3. Prioritize aspects of care/ services
4. Identify at least two projects to address
5. Flowchart the process
6. Establish indicators for identified projects
7. Established thresholds for evaluation based on
customer expectations
8. Collect and analyze the data
9. Evaluate effectiveness of care and document the
level of improvement
10. Evaluate the effectiveness of action
SYSTEM MODEL FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE
The basis components of this model
Input- can be compared to the present of the
system
Throughput- Development process
Output- finish the product
Feedback- Essential for maintaining and
nourishes growth

RESEARCH ARTICLE
Bender, C. Tores R and Diana. E conducted a
research study on “ Use of Donabedian Model as a
Framework for Covid – 19 Response at a hospital in
Suburban Westchester Country, Newyork: A Facility
Level Case Report”.
Purpose: To describe the facility leadership process
to apply Donabedian Model.
Methods: Retrospective evaluation is used to evaluate
by using this model both structural and procedural
changes were implemented to ensure high quality
clinical outcomes as well as the safety and
engagement of emergency department.
Result: Clinical outcome services quality and staff
safety were assessed, suggesting that following
structured process improvement model can
