Are You familiar with cards?
How many type of cards are there?
What are those type of cards?
What is the total number of possible outcomes?
DECK OF CARDS
• A standard deck contains 52 cards
• 4 types: Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, Spades
• Each type has 13 cards: Ace through 10, Jack, Queen,
King
• 2 colors: Red (Hearts and Diamonds) and
Black (Clubs and Spades)
SPECIAL TYPE OF CARDS
• Face Cards: Jack , Queen and King

• Number cards: 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10


PROBABILITY ABOUT DECK OF CARDS
Example:
Drawing a card from a standard deck,
• What is the probability of drawing a Queen?
• What's the chance of drawing a red face card?
• What's the probability of NOT drawing an Ace?
• What's the probability of drawing a number card?
• If you draw two cards, what's the probability both are
