• The term "inabel" comes from the Ilocano word
“abel”, meaning a sturdy but wearable textile.
• Nelia Ardaniel’s binakol weave features optical
illusion-like patterns, believed to ward off spirits.
With 60+ years of experience, she preserves tradition
through collaborations and exhibits.

• Capiz Shell Furniture supports local artisans in the
Philippines who learn the craft to make a living.

piña fibers is called suksuk. Piña fiber, known as "the
queen of Philippine handwoven textiles," is lightweight

abaca cloth) and ikat weaving.
