Definition
• Paediatric gastroenterology is a subspecialty of medicine focusing on
the diagnosis, treatment, and management of gastrointestinal (GI)
disorders in infants, children, and adolescents.
• GI disorders are common in childhood and can significantly affect
growth, development, and quality of life.
• Early detection and treatment prevent complications and ensure
optimal health outcomes.
