STRENGTHENING THE BOARD AND DELEGATING
ROLES FOR EFFECTIVE CHURCH LEADERSHIP
Proposal:
1.Shahnaz as Staff Monitor
This will include overseeing staff progress, ensuring accountability, and representing staff
updates in board discussions. This transition will free Ps Sherine to focus more on the vision,
discipleship, and leadership that God has called her to.
2. Clarifying Roles
1.Wishan (Chairman): Ensuring board direction aligns with our disciple-making
mission, leading discussions, and facilitating decisions.
2.Teresa (Vice Chairman): Supporting the chair in leadership duties and being
available to step in when needed.
3.Dileepa or the new appointment (Finance Director): Overseeing financial
management, including budgets, stewardship, and reporting.
4.Brindhini (Board Secretary): Managing board documentation, minutes, and
administrative tasks.
While these roles are being fulfilled, there are still gaps that need to be
addressed, and input is needed on how these can be distributed more
effectively.
3. Future Additions to the Board
Begin prayerfully considering who else should join the board to strengthen its capacity.

Spiritual Oversight Leader
• Oversees the spiritual direction and health of the church, ensuring decisions
align with biblical principles.
• Encourages prayer within the board and ministry.
Human Resources/Staff Liaison
• Manages staff-related policies, contracts, and development.
• Serves as a point of contact between the board and staff for communication and
concerns.
Operations/Facilities Manager
• Ensures the church’s facilities are well-maintained and operational.
• Coordinates building use for events, ministry needs, and other activities.
• Oversees long-term facility projects and renovations.
Community Outreach Coordinator
• Develops and oversees outreach initiatives and partnerships.
• Ensures the church’s presence and service are felt in the surrounding
community.
• Identifies opportunities for evangelism and social impact.
Discipleship and Education Leader
• Focuses on discipleship programs, Bible studies, and Christian education
initiatives.
• Develops and evaluates curricula for spiritual growth.
Technology and Media Coordinator
• Oversees the church’s online presence, media strategies, and digital tools.
• Supports live streaming, church website updates, and social media
engagement.
• Ensures technology is used effectively in worship and communication.
Fundraising/Development Officer
• Creates and manages fundraising campaigns for specific needs (e.g.,
building projects, missions).
• Cultivates relationships with donors and ensures donor appreciation.
Youth and Children’s Ministry Advocate
• Ensures the needs of youth and children’s ministries are represented.
• Helps plan programs that disciple and nurture young believers.
Policy and Risk Management Officer
• Oversees church policies to ensure legal compliance and ethical standards.
• Identifies and mitigates potential risks, including financial, operational, and
reputational risks.
Prayer and Care Coordinator
• Focuses on fostering a culture of prayer within the church.
• Coordinates prayer chains, pastoral care, and ministry to the sick or
bereaved.
Missions and Global Outreach Liaison
• Oversees mission initiatives and partnerships.
• Tracks the church’s involvement and support of global and local
missionaries.
