SYNTHETIC BEVERAGES
According to the FSSAI, synthetic beverages are made by
blending syrups made from sugar, dextrose, or liquid
glucose. They must meet certain standards, including
being free from objectionable materials.
FSSAI STANDARDS
• They should have a pH value less than 4.5.
• They should have a total soluble solids percentage by
mass of more than 30%.
• They should have a specific gravity of 1.0 to 1.5.
• They should have an acidity as citric acid of 0.1 to 0.3.
