PRACTICAL
RESEARCH

DIAGNOSTIC TEST
A Qualitative Research is used to gain an in-depth
understanding of human behavior and the reasons
behind it.
Quantitative Research includes data gathering
methods such as questionnaires, structured
observations or experiments.
Qualitative Research utilizes set of strategies,
techniques and assumptions used to study
psychological. Social and economic processes through
the exploration of numeric patterns.
Human Participants of the study are called
respondents.
The purpose of research is to enhance
society by advancing knowledge through
the development of scientific theories,
hearsays, and gossips.
Nature of
Inquiry
and
Research
Objectives
At the end of the lesson,
the students are expected
to:
1. share research
experiences and
knowledge;
2. explain the importance
of research in daily life;
and
3. illustrate the
importance of qualitative
research across fields.
How was your experience in
conducting a research?
What is Practical Research?
• It refers to the building of
knowledge useful to
practice that adheres to
the basic principles of
scientific inquiry. (Blundo,
2014)
“Some hate research
because of frustration.
They aim to impact
change and
development through
research yet nothing
seems to happen.” -
Together, let us
write
researches that
bring change
and
development!
GROUP ACTIVITY
Directions: Read and analyze the situation to be assigned
to your group. Formulate a practical solution to the
problem in each situation. Write your answers on the
paper provided.
[Link] evening, your neighbor plays
loud country music through his karaoke
machine.
[Link] best friend asks you what she
should do after discovering she is 3
weeks pregnant.
[Link] class has a diverse preference of
sports drink which is why you cannot
finalize the class budget for the
upcoming intramurals.
[Link] cats and dogs urinate and
defecate in front of your gate.
[Link] teachers wish to know if their
remediation program is effective.

PRESENTATION
Based on
today’s activity,
how can
research help
solve practical
problems?
How important are
research
respondents in
research writing?
