communities, and advocating for national unity, young
Filipinos become active contributors to the country’s growth and
progress.
The National Youth Commission (NYC) of the Philippines is dedicated to
fostering patriotism and nationalism among Filipino youth through various
programs and initiatives. Key efforts include:

Republic Act No. 8044, the NYC formulates and implements the MTYDP, a
comprehensive framework designed to promote the physical, moral,
spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being of the youth. A core objective of
this plan is to inculcate patriotism and nationalism, encouraging active

national pride and identity among young Filipinos.
3. Philippine International Youth Day: Established by Proclamation No.
229, this annual event on August 12 is led by the NYC to celebrate and
recognize the contributions of the youth in nation-building. Activities
during this day are designed to promote civic engagement and a sense of
national pride among participants.

youth organizations across the country, encouraging them to develop
programs that promote civic efficiency, stewardship of natural resources,
