Significance of the Study
Students- As the participants of this study, the students
are who will benefit most from its findings. A decrease
in reading comprehension is an issue that requires
immediate attention, and potentially finding the factors
behind it will benefit students in the long term, as it will
help in their education, as well as their daily life where
understanding both short and long written texts is of
utmost importance.

Significance of the study
Teachers- The role of the teachers is to educate learners
with the tools they have at their disposal, which
includes the textbooks and other materials they may
use. However, their efforts will be fruitless if students
can not understand what they are reading.
Understanding the declining reading comprehension
among students will help teachers know what students
respond to, and help them change their techniques
