All human beings are born free and


equal in dignity and rights.
They are endowed with reason and
conscience and should act towards one
another in a spirit of brotherhood.
ARTICLE 2
Everyone is entitled to all the rights and
freedoms without distinction of any kind, such
as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political
or other opinion, national or social origin,
property, birth or other status.

people of all the nations.
The UDHR is not a treaty. It has no legal
binding. It is advisory in nature.
UDHR does not impose any legal
obligation to any state.
It is only a recommendation to the
states.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE
DECLARATION
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights set for the
international community, a common standard of achievement.
It is the duty of the state, regardless of their social, political
and economic system to promote and protect human rights.
It is the most (more than 500 languages) translated
document in the world.
It is the foundation for the growing number of national laws,
international treaties and promoting human rights.
It is the foundation for freedom, justice and peace by
protecting the rights of every human being.
It inspired the decolonization movement and freedom
fighters all around the world.

Nation in the field of human rights.
•At present day it is the general guideline
of fundamental rights.

as a common standard of achievement
for all the people of the world.
