This fear of death is known as


thanatophobia, which is distinguished
from necrophobia, which is the fear of
the dead persons. We are afraid to die
simply because we do not know what will
happen after death. It only shows how we
appreciate and value life, hence the
thought of ending this precious life scares
us.
Catholic Teachings

 The Letter to the Hebrews states that


the human destiny to die (cf. Heb 9:27).
 Death is universal, which means it will
certainly happen to everybody. Death is
investable, which means nobody will
escape it. Why then are we afraid of
death if it is certain to occur?
The fact that the thought of death is
frightening is the reason death is WE ARE
repulsive to us. The fear death is simply CONDENME

 The fear of death naturally grips us. Any
kind of separation is painful. Death as
the separation of body and soul is most
terrifying when we view death as the end
of everything.
 Some people may say that they do not
death. What they fear is the pain that
accompanies death. It is true. The blood
of the martyrs, the heroic lives of the
saints, and the virtuous witnessing of the
present disciples of Jesus prove that fear
of death could be overcome. NATURALLY
 Jesus, in His agony at the garden of
Gethsemane, showed His being human
