Togolok Moldo (real name Bayymbet Abdyrakhmanov, 1860-
1942) was a Kyrgyz Soviet akyn. Performer of the epic “Manas”.
Akyn Togolok Moldo was born in the area of Kurtka (now Ak-
Talinsky district of Naryn region) in the family of a peasant on
June 10 (according to other data June 17), 1860.
Raised by his grandfather's brother, Muzooke, who was a well-
known storyteller and komuzist. Muzooke taught him about
Kyrgyz history, folklore, and the epic “Manas”.Togolok Moldo
grew up listening to stories and music that would inspire his
future poetry.

landowners).He developed a deep love for
knowledge, which led him to work for a local
mullah.He left the mullah after disputes,
instead learning from local improvisational
singers and reading literature from famous
