ACCOMPLISHMENT

RELATIONSHIP
The bigger and stronger our relationships, the more we can achieve together
Management’s Commitment to You
• If you stop a job for a safety reason – we will back you
up

• If you have a safety concern – we will listen and address

it promptly (Remember: you have the support of your
IIF Leadership Team)

• If there is an injury – we will provide support to the

people that are impacted, fully investigate, share our
learning and treat everyone involved fairly

• We will support the supervisors and crews in taking time

to work safely
What Management Expects of You
• Take responsibility for Safety, identify the hazard, own
it, fix it and report.

• Make pre-task plans and effective tool-box talks the

most important part of your day. Make sure your people
are physically and mentally prepared to work safely

• Look for people working safely and show your

appreciation

• When you have to talk to someone who is working at

risk, speak from care and concern instead of right vs
wrong
What Incident & Injury-Free is Not

• It is NOT a target; it is a journey

• It is NOT a guarantee or a formula

• It is NOT the elimination of all risks

• Its not about ZERO

What is Incident & Injury-Free?

• It is about caring for one another and

demonstrating that care on a daily basis

• It is about all workers going home safely

every day – that means everybody safe,
every day

• It is about refusing to accept any level of

injury
What is Incident & Injury-Free?

• It is about taking responsibility for your

own safety and the safety of those who
work with you in your crews, and around
your area

• It is about questions like: “What is the

most dangerous thing that can happen on
this job and how can I stop it from
happening?”
What is Incident & Injury-Free?

• It is choosing to follow the safety rules

and procedures (versus having to follow
them)

• It is speaking up and expressing your

concern when you see something unsafe
