Introduction to Minecraft
What is Minecraft?
It is defined as the basics of Computer
Science by programming “Alex” or “Steve”
through a simulated piece of Minecraft
World. Traditional programming is usually in
text, but Minecraft is a blocky system which
uses usual blocks that can be dragged or
dropped to write programmes. Minecraft is
Let's

Features of Minecraft:-
Play Space Toolbox Workspace
Description
Your Screen is split into three main parts. Following describes all three of them:-

Actions Minecraft
Characters perform:-
Move Forward(); block:
If the Move Forward block is dragged onto the
workspace and we click RUN. Your character will
move forward one space on the grid.
Turn Right(); block:
If we drag the Turn Right block underneath the
first block, your character will perform both the
actions commanded to it. (Move froward and
turn right).
Note: “When adding another block underneath
the first block, keep dragging and pressing it until
an orange line appears. Then drop it and the two
blocks will snap together.”

Deleting Blocks:
When deleting a block, drag it
from the stack back to the toolbox.
To undo your changes and get back
to how the level started, use the
Start over button in the top right
corner of the workspace.
One more thing:
If you see the little triangle on any
of the blocks, it means you can
choose any other different option.
Repeat Loops:-
How are Repeat Loops useful?
Repeat loops are used to place all the initial materials for
creating a new world. That’s thousands and thousands of
blocks. Repeat loops are also used in little ways, like
moving your characters feet back and forth. Repeat loops
are a powerful part of programming.
E.G:
We can use repeat loops to build a house. For building
walls, we can command the character to move forward
place planks 4 times. We can take the place plank and
use the repeat block to have the character perform the
action multiple times.
IF Statements:-
What are IF statements?
IF statements are a fundamental part of
learning to programme. They help a
computer to make decisions.
All computer use IF statements,
including phones too. If we unlock a
phone, it runs a password that’s says if
password is correct then unlock the
phone. Otherwise, it shows an error
message.
You can use IF statements in your code to make your characters react to what they
see in the world. For example, if there is a rock in front of your character, they can
turn left. Or turn right if they run into a tree. If there is lava under the rock, we want
to place a stone Infront of our character so they can safely move on.
Thanks for going through my presentation. I hope
that the information regarding Minecraft will help you
to be better in Computer Science.
