Learning Teaching Process

Setting the scene / Warm up


- Teacher asks students about animals and asks the students to guess what they are going to
learn.
- Teacher shows some hand puppets of animals and ask their names from students

Examples:

● What is the name of this animal?


● Ask students to imitate the sounds that the animals make.
● Do you love animals?
● Do you have any pets with you?
● Who is your favourite animal?
- Students respond to the Teacher

Step 1
- Teacher introduces animals and their young to students with hand puppets.
- Teacher asks a question from students.

Example : Have you ever seen a new born baby?

Students respond to teacher.


- Teacher tells students that animals take care of their babies just like parents or guardians take care of their children.
- Students involved in the lesson and get an idea about animals and their young
- Teacher paste the names and the pictures of animals and their young on the board

Example:Show students images of a duck and duckling, a chicken and a chick, a cow and a calf, and a whale and its
calf
- Teacher asks students to listen to her and repeat after her.
- Students listen to the teacher and read new words after her.
- Assessment : Teacher asks to read some young animals’ names from random students.

Activity 01

- Teacher pastes the images of the animals to the whiteboard randomly with magnets.
- Teacher asks some students to come up and find a matching pair.
- Students engage in the given activity.
Activity 02
- Teacher divides the students into two groups and ask two students come to the board and write a
name of an animal (taught during the lesson)
- Teacher ask other student to write the name of young animal’s name in front of previously written
animal’s name within 10 seconds.
- Teacher give marks to each group
- Students enjoying the game.
Assessment : Teacher asks students to check the answers on the board.

Summing up
- Teacher reads some animals and their young names and ask students to give answers
