Procedures in Drafting

Block/Basic Pattern for Blouse


•Front Bodice Basic/Block Pattern for Blouse
•Draw a construction line and mark the corner as point A.
•A-B 3 inches
•A-C front figure measurement
•A-D is apex height measurement
•A-E is 2 ½ inches
•A-F is ½ chest measurement
•A-G `is ½ shoulder measurement
•A-H is ¼ bust measurement
•A-M is the blouse length, extend ½ inch .
•G-I is 1 inch
•I–J is 4 inches in line with letter F
•C-P is ½ apex distance minus ½ inch
•D-O is ½ apex distance
•C-L is ¼ waistline measurement plus 1 inch
•H-K From H, measure ½ of the armhole downward
•P-R is 1 inch
•Q is the center of P and R
•M-N is ¼ hip measurement
•S Measure 5 inches downward for the dart and connect them.
Back Part Basic/Block Pattern for Blouse
• Draw a construction line and mark the corner as point
A.
•A-B 1 inch
•A-C Back figure measurement
•A-D is apex height measurement
•A-E is 2 ½ inches
•A-F is ½ across back measurement
•A-H is ¼ bust measurement
•A-M is the blouse length
•G-I is 1 inch
•I–J is 4 inches in line with letter F
•C-P is ½ apex distance minus ½ inch
•D-O is ½ apex distance
• C-L is ¼ waistline measurement plus 1 inch
• H-K From H, measure ½ of the armhole downward
• P-R is 1 inch
•Q is the center of P and R
• M-N is ¼ hip measurement
• S Measure 5 inches downward for the dart and
connect them. Connect points EB, IJK, using
French curve KL, EI, MN, using ruler.
•Drafting the Sleeve
•Measurements needed:
•Armhole
•Arm girth
•Sleeve length
1. A is corner to wo lines
2. A-B is 5 inches downward
3. A-C is the length of sleeve downward. Draw horizontal lines for ABC.
4. A-D is ½ of the armhole measurement to the right.
• 5. C-E is ½ of the arm girth to the right + 1-inch
allowance. Connect DE.
• 6. F is corner of BD. Connect AF.
• 7. G is ½ of AF measurement.
• 8. H is ½ of AG measurement + ¾” upward
• 9. I is ½ of GF measurement + ¼” downward.
Connect AHG with a curve line. So with GIF.
10. Cut from A to C, AHGIFE to C.
