CONCEPT

New residential typology which

breaks away from the clusters
of isolating towers .
FORM

The cuboids are arranged in

enclosed community spaces on
different levels .
SPATIAL
COMPOSITION
Outer area of the builtmass has
been utilized by making spaces
that the community as a whole
can use as opposed to the
smaller voids that are created
with each hexagon .
STRUCTURE

Each building contains 6 floors

and is stacked one on top of
another . 6 main pillars run
through the intersections of the
buildings to the top .
SUSTAINABILITY

Extensive green roof, vegetable

swale, bioretention basin,
vertical greenery .
CIRCULATION

2 Pedestrian entries + 1
vehicular entry . Pedestrian
entry is the primary route
leading to the residences .
CLIMATE

The angles formed on the

eastern and western obstruct
the direct heat and the sunlight
at the same moment ensuring
that all the areas are well lit .
INTRODUCTION

• 31 Apartment blocks, each 6 storey tall with 8 main

courtyards .
• Basement parking 2,600 cars .
• Apartments- 1040 (1,44,000 sq. m)
(sizes vary 75 sq. m – 600 sq. m)
• Clubhouses – 1,500 sq. m
• Retail – 500 sq. m

CONCEPT

The interlace challenges the idea of building high density horizontally rather than vertically. Instead of following the
typology of building isolated towers, the design turns vertical isolation into horizontal connectivity and reinstates
the notion of community living

MAXIMIZING GREEN SPACE

FORM
The cuboids are arranged in a
hexagonal grid pattern creating
enclosed community spaces on
different levels.
Interlocking blocks create exciting
indoor and outdoor spaces that
connect individual apartments to
its vibrant community life.
Multiple levels also create a sense
of freedom of possibilities for
living.
Large gaps between the zig-zag
stacked blocks allow not only for a
robust distance between the units
but also to views of the
tropical jungle beyond.
FORM
The 31 blocks are arranged on
four main 'Superlevels' comprising
24 stories.
Super Level 1: 11 buildings
Super level 2: 10 buildings
Super Level 3: 7 buildings
Super level 4:3 buildings

balconies. The continuous landscape is also projected
vertically, from the planting of green areas in open-air
basement voids, through balconies and rooftop
gardens.
STRUCTURE

Each building contains 6 floors and is stacked one on top of another. Six main pillars run through the intersection of the buildings to
the top. All the pillars are arranged in the shape of a hexagon and are called cores .
STRUCTURE

Junctions created between two buildings act as

common passages thus saving up space as well as
removing the need to 2 different access to the
building. Common cores act as anchor points for the
rotation of the buildings which leads to the
formation of hanging gardens.
STRUCTURE

The vertical transitions between

buildings have circular "mega-columns"
optimized for the hexagonal
configuration.
All the blocks are connected through the
core.
The architectural concept demanded the
design of a long span transfer structure
that would support the six-storey block
across two main cores at the ends of
each block
FOUNDATION- Reinforced concrete piles
and/or bored piles and/or raft footing
SUPERSTRUCTURE- Reinforced concrete

INTERNAL WALLS: brick/block wall and/or
dry wall partition
STRUCTURE

A large number of open-air

voids allow light and air to
the semi-sunken parking
deck, creating areas of lush
vegetation and trees below
ground and connecting
these spaces visually and
through planting to the
courtyards above.

ANALYSIS

SUNPATH
Singapore's climate is characterized by uniform Temperature
and Pressure, High Humidity and abundant Rainfall.

The Sunshine is not very good, since there is an average of 5

to 6 hours of Sunshine per day for most of the year.

The Temperature remains between 22° C and 32°C.

Relative Humidity is in the range of 70% - 80%.

The wind blows from North to North-East in Winters and

South to South-East in Summers.
