HANDBALL POSITION
• Handball game is played by seven player in the court including
goalkeeper who is responsible to secure his goal from the
opponents scoring but goalkeeper can able to assist the team in
attacking
HANDBALL POSITION
• At any moment court player can be played as a goalkeeper and
also goalkeeper can play as court player provided that rules
and regulation is observed
HANDBALL CENTER BACKCOURT
• The center backcourt in handball is the “brain” of the team,the
organizer of the attacking system as the name implies ,the
center backcourt acts through the centre of the court setting
his team moves
CHARACTERISTICS OF CENTER BACKCOURT
• Passes expert of all types
• Have a good long shoot
• Have a good view of the game,understanding the movement of
your team and the opposing team

• Communicative to guide teammates in attacking moves
• Smart and creative in distribution of moves
SIDE BACKCOURTS
• Handball side backcourts are players of strength and very
important in offensive and defensive actions
• The right backcourt acts from the center to the right of the court
and left backcourt acts from the center to the left side of the
handball court
CHARACTERISTICS OF SIDE BACKCOURT
• Are usually tall and physically strong players
• Have a strong long range shoot
• Are good jumpers
HANDBALL WINGERS
• Handball wingers are quickly players,key players in the attacking
actions of a handball team,who acts very close to the sidelines
HANDBALL WINGERS
• It is common in handball the right wingers to be a left handed
players and the left wingers to be right handed as this features
helps the wingers gain more angles when shooting from the
side of the opponents areas
CHARACTERISTICS OF WINGERS
• Speed and agility
• Ability to make small angle shots
• Accuracy in shooting
• Ability to change direction and movement during shooting
• Move quickly to counter attack
HANDBALL PIVOT
• The handball pivot is a player who moves in the attack between
the goal area line and 9 meter line
CHARACTERISTICS OF PIVOT
• Make free spaces in the opposing defence for the infiltration
and throws of his teammate
• Find spaces in the opposing defence to position themselves and
receive the ball in a position to throw
CHARACTERISTICS OF PIVOT
• Have a big repertoire of throw to make a goal at any moment
he receive the ball in a position to score
HANDBALL GOALKEEPER
• The handball Goalkeeper is usually tall and fast in addition to
the defensive characteristics,the handball Goalkeeper must be
able to acts like a normal player and have a good pass
CHARACTERISTICS OF GOALKEEPER
• Have a good positioning for each type of opponents throws
• Be brave to face the opponents strong throws
• Have a good ball timing that means know the right time to
move to the ball to defend a shot
CHARACTERISTICS OF GOALKEEPER
• Have a good game vision and a good long pass to start counter
attack (fast break) after making a save or winning possession
