FEEDING
Feeds and Feeding
• Carbohydrates – lakas at enerhiya (mais, darak,
prutas, kamote, kamoteng-kahoy, bigas, saging, atbp)
• Protein – paglaki, pag-ayos ng mga nasirang laman,
paggawa ng itlog (bulate, anay, insekto, fish meal,
soybean meal, kadyos, copra meal, atbp)
• Fats – lakas at enerhiya ( copra meal, sapal ng niyog)
• Vitamins – normal na paglaki (papaya, bayabas, hinog
na saging, atbp prutas)
• Minerals – normal na pagproseso ng pagkain (eggshell,
oyster shell, asin, buto ng hayop)
Day old chicks:
- After the chicks are brought to their new home,
they should be allowed to rest for 10-15 minutes
- Then they should be given drinking water
containing extracted malunggay leaves and (50g)
sugar/liter of water for seven days
- Give broken brown rice or fine corn w/ chopped
bamboo leaves for seven days
Day 8 to Day 21:
- Feed the chicks ad libitum with commercial chick
booster ration with (20-22% crude protein) until
they reach 21 days of age
- Provide fresh drinking water w/ OHN
Hardened Chicks
The chicks should be fed 3 times a day of
commercial starter ration with (18-20% crude
protein) mixed with homemade feeds when they
reach 21 days of age
Additional feeders and waterer is important
(Use Bamboo or old tires for feeder)
Feed just enough to create a sence of hunger
Provide fresh drinking water at all times
Always keep record on the amount of feeds and
supplements given
Growers and Breeders
- Feed free-range laying hens with mixed commercial
to homemade ration like corn, palay, rice middling's,
vegetables and forages or other available feed materials
in the area.
- On the average, about 100 g. consume per head per
day.
- Always check the feeds if they consume them or
not.
- Provide the birds fresh drinking water at all times.
- For the growers, for the last 15 days mix lemon
grass (tanglad) or oregano extract in drinking water.

SAKIT : Sipon at Halak
SINTOMAS : Matamlay, hirap huminga at may likidong
lumalabas sa ilong.
PAGGAMOT :
Herbal treatment
- ½ cup oregano leaves and bamboo leaves
- ½ cup siling labuyo (pounded) and mix together
- Mixed two cups of warm water, from this pure
mixture get 1 tbsp. mix for every liter of drinking
water.
SAKIT : Fowl fox, Bulutong Tubig, Buti.
SINTOMAS : Maputla at may butlig sa mukha at ibang
parte ng katawan.
PAGGAMOT :
Herbal treatment
- Ipakain ang buong butil ng paminta o siling labuyo (3-5
butil sa loob ng 5 araw)
- Dinikdik na sili at ipahid sa sugat (dry fox)
- (wet fox), Alisin ang sipon sa loob ng lalamunan sa
pamamagitan ng balahibo nito. Sunugin ang balahibo
pagkatapos gamitin para maiwasan ang pagkalat ng sakit.
Ipalunok sa manok ang buong butil ng paminta o siling
labuyo. Ibigay sa umaga bago kumain ang mga manok.
