Exposure triangle definition
The exposure triangle consists of three variables that adjust how a
camera captures light.
Aperture Shutter speed ISO
When you combine them together, you control the amount of light entering the
camera from any light source.
If you change just one of these three variables,
the exposure of the photo will be completely different.

Triangle Exposure Elements
A. Aperture (f)
Literal meaning: “opening” or “hole”
Aperture is the opening of the lens that helps regulate the amount of
light entering the camera sensor.
The camera adjusts the aperture up and down through opening or
closing the aperture blades.
• The smaller the aperture, the
smaller the opening
The less light entering the lens.
• The larger the aperture, the
larger the opening
The more light entering the lens.
This is essential in low light environments.
But it will make the length of field shallow. This is not ideal when
taking landscape photos.

B. Shutter Speed
How fast the shutter in your camera opens and closes . More specifically is
the length of time your camera sensor is exposed to light when u click the
shutter, also known as exposure time.
It's measured in seconds or fractions of seconds such as 1/1000, 1/500 1/250 and so
on shutter speed along with the other points of the exposure triangle PLAY A
REALLY IMPORTANT role in the overall exposure as well as the motion blur and
freezing of motion in the image.
• A slower shutter speed such as 1/80 1/50 of a second will allow more light to reach
your camera sensor resulting brighter image. ( BLUR)
• The other hand a faster speed 1/ 1000 1/2000 will allow less light to reach the camera's
sensor making the darker image. ( FREEZE)
Note: All changes in the exposure triangle affect the brightness of the image.
Low speeds High speeds
C. ISO
The final variable in the exposure triangle is
ISO. You can think of ISO as the sensitivity of
the digital sensor (although it is a lot more
complicated than that).
The higher you increase the ISO, the brighter the photo and vice versa
The ISO values of each machine are different,
usually from 100 (low) - 6400 (high).
Note:
Higher ISO will cause grainy images, resulting in noisy and unsharp images.

The importance of Exposure Triangle
The exposure triangle is a basic and important concept in photography. It shows the relationship
between three main factors, aperture, shutter speed and ISO, in determining the exposure of a photo.
By combining these three elements well, we can create remarkable photos, from realistic and high-quality
photos to unique works of art.

Some interesting “ tips ”
Additional Tips:
Combine these techniques!
• A wide aperture
• Shallow depth of field
• Slow shutter speed
• Moving subject
• A blurred background
Additional Tips:
Experiment and practice! The best way to master -> to try different
settings -> see how they impact your images
By understanding these creative applications: not just for technical
accuracy -> express your artistic vision and create truly impactful
photographs.
