Where do flamingos live?

Flamingos can live in both cold and warm weather. They


can live everywhere as long as they have lots of food and
water.
What do flamingos eat?

Flamingoes eat both plants


and animals.

They eat lots of shrimp and


snails, and the pink color of
the shrimp turns their
feathers pink!

When they eat they put


their head upside down.

Flamingoes hold their


breath while eating.
The Flamingo nest is made of mud.

Flamingos lay one large egg. Both parents take turns taking
care of the egg.
Baby Flamingos are called chicks

Baby Flamingoes don’t have curved


peaks.

Baby Flamingos have greyish eyes


and
white feathers!

Adult Flamingos have yellow eyes


and
pink feathers!

Parent Flamingos take care of their


chicks for 6 years.
The Flamingo has long legs.

When flamingoes want to rest


they stand on one leg.
Flamingoes live in large groups called colonies up to millions.
They eat at the same time and sleep at the same time. The
colony even does a special dance together!
