Most of the interviewees worry about washing clothes on rainy
days. And in particular for those who are people work at
offices, companies, factories, free time is usually in the evening.
CURRENT SOLUTION
Current solution
User measures when drying clothes:
- Use a normal mechanical clothes drying pole. But there must be a weather observer
to collect clothes.
- Wash clothes using an outside laundry service. But additional weekly laundry and
drying costs arise.

PROBLEM?
What’s the problem?

• Must stop current work to collect clothes when it rains.

• Drying clothes is limited on rainy days.
• When busy with work outside, clothes get wet when it rains.

Week 1,2,3: Survey social needs to choose topics. Week 10,11,12: Solve errors of each part.
• Learn about social problems. • Decompose and state the function of each part.
• Survey society's current solutions to the topic's problem. • Evaluate the severity of the error.
• Survey of satisfaction with the topic. • Provide methods to edit designs.
• Create working prototypes.
Week 4,5,6: Evaluate stakeholder requirements.
• Survey user opinions about working prototypes.
• Survey the requirements of stakeholders.
• Presents the basic features of the topic.
Week 13,14,15: Complete the product.
• Basic prototype design.
• Complete functions that need improvement.
Week 7,8,9: Select materials for each part. • Corrected remaining errors from the previous section.
• Decompose blocks to select materials. • Perform tests on products.
• Evaluate each part to select materials.
• Research existing products.
• Product design.
• Survey user opinions about the prototype.

About Mechanical (Frame part, Roof part):

• Mechanical parts are connected together by drilling holes and re-machining for installation, using screws to reinforce the
connection.
• To collect/dry clothes, use pulleys and belts, combined with a reduction motor.
• When the product is in operation, the joints of the mechanical parts are not affected, causing cracking or deformation.
Electrical diagram of the product

About Electronics (Power unit, Controller, Actuator, Weather sensor):

• Using 24V 10A honeycomb power source, controlled via motor reversing RF Module.
• The communication signal of the product used is Digital.
• The product has 3 signal inputs and 2 signal outputs.
Bottom - up Development:

Criteria Specification

Product dimensions 2m x 0.6m x 1.5m

Roof lenght 0.8m

Power source 220V-240V/60Hz

Clothes collection speed 10s

Sensor delay 0.5 - 1s

Maximum load 10kg

Complete Tests:
Functional test
• This part has been done in section 5 of module 4 and there are no problems.
• Has automatic function with remote control, using sensors to change status.

Usability test
• The product is neatly designed and has good aesthetics.
• Because the product is designed to run automatically, it is very easy to use.
• User reviews were also presented in Module 4. Final prototype

Feedback from community partner to develop and refine:

“Outside, the clothes collection area needs to have a cover to
“I think it is enough”
prevent rainwater from splashing in strong winds”

“In the dry season when there is not much

rain, plugging in the electricity may cause “Can it work in night ?”
wasting electricity”
Complete Tests:
Safety test
• After reviewing the errors that occurred in the DFMEA board, we found that only the rain sensor error will likely appear due to age,
the other errors have been redesigned and fixed.
• The power adapter has a fuse attached to ensure electrical safety.
• After many improvements, we installed additional fuses in the DC Motor Reversing RF Controller 12V-24V 40A D40MT-D to create
safety for users.
Reliability tests
• If actual production is carried out, the product is highly durable.
• Possible errors
- The rain sensor does not work if used for a long time.
- The limit switch does not receive signals because of reduced sensitivity. This error is because the limit switch used in the project only
has a lifespan of 1000 clicks.
• Recovery methods
- Maintain the rain sensor by regularly cleaning it after it rains and checking it periodically once a month.
- The product has overcome the sensitivity of the limit switch compared to the working prototype, the product has overcome the error
that the model had.
Field tests
Because this project only uses models, when it rains in a real environment, the product does not work as expected.
