Systems of Measurement
• Systems of measurements are used by people in giving descriptions about
physical quantities, such as mass, length and volume.
• We will study two systems of measurements: the English System and the
International System of Units, which is commonly called the SI and the
metric system.
• SI acronym comes from the French version of the International System of
Units, which is Système International d'Unités

• There are seven base units. Other units are called derived units.
