Introduction
 CHARLES FRITTS developed the first solar cell by using selenium
covered in gold.

A solar power plant used sunlight to get energy.

As the sunlight is more and renewable ,one can use it to power up
the home and business premises.

If you install a solar power plant, you might need to spend upfront.
However, it will minimize your energy consumption significantly
Why solar power plant is more important

 Because it will minimize your energy consumption and it will save you a lot on
your energy consumption.

 It will reduce the dependency factor.

 That means in an emergency situation you can use renewable energy to generate
electricity without depending on electric grid.

 The generate electricity can be used for cooling,heating and many other purposes.

 There are 2 main types of solar plant.

Solar thermal power plant

In solar thermal power plants, solar radiation is used to


generate electricity.
Mirrors concentrate the sunlight on a radiation collector
and heat up a heat-bearing medium, generally thermal
oil.
A turbine transforms this energy into electricity .
Solar thermal collections are made to heat your homes.

The PV cell consists of one or two layer of a semiconducting
material, usually silicon.
When light shines on the silicon cell it creates an electric
field across the layer causing electricity to flow.
The photovoltaic panels are designed to power up electrical
devices.
