Natural Vegetation & Wildlife
• Natural vegetation refers to a plant
community, which has grown naturally
without human aid and has been left
undisturbed by humans for a long time.
• Wildlife refers to undomesticated animal
species, but has come to include all
organisms that grow or live wild in an area
without being introduced by humans.
Diversity due to Flora and Fauna
• The term flora is used to denote plants of a particular
region or period. similarly, the species of animals are
referred to as fauna. this huge diversity in flora and
fauna kingdom is due to many factors. two of which
are CLIMATE and RELIEF.
Climate: Relief
Climate, on the other hand, refers to the long-term (usually at least Relief' is the term used for the differences in height from
30 years) regional or even global average of temperature, place to place on the land's surface and it is greatly affected
humidity, and rainfall patterns over seasons, years, or decades. by the underlying geology.
Climate includes: Relief includes:
• Temperature • Land
• Photoperiod (sunlight) • Soil
• Precipitation

• the character and extent of vegetation are • The variation in the duration of sunlight • Precipitation is water released from
mainly determined by temperature along at different places due to differences in clouds through rain, freezing rain, sleet,

• extreme changes in temperature changes the day • areas of heavy rainfall have more dense
