Write a Meaningful Subject Line

• Write from the recipient’s point of view


• What does he/she need to know?
• Make it capure the most important points
• Keep it seven words or less
Why?

• People recieve so many messages each day


• Careeless e-mails do not elicit careful responses
• Messages must be well orgnized
• Messages must be brief
• Readers may be using portable devices
• Who has a lot of time to waste?
Organize It!

• Include the topic in the first sentence


• Describe what this is about
• State what respons or action you need
• Clearly express when you need it
• Limit your text to one screen
• If you have too much info, use seperate messages
