How Chat GPT Works(Details)
 Training: chat GPT is first trained on a massive amount of text data,
such as books, articles, and websites. This training data is used to teach
the neural network how to understand and generate natural language.
 Encoding: when chat gpt receives a text-based prompt, such as a
question, it first encodes the input text into a numerical representation
that the neural network can understand.
 Processing: the encoded input text is then passed through a series of
transformer layers, which analyze and process the input text based on
its context and generate a representation of the text's meaning.
 Decoding: once the input text has been processed, the transformer
network generates a probability distribution over the possible responses
to the input text. This distribution is then used to select the most likely
response.
 Output: finally, it outputs the selected response as text.

Benefits
 ChatGPT can save time and
resources by automating
repetitive tasks and reducing
the need for human
intervention.
 It can improve customer
satisfaction by providing
faster and more accurate
responses.
 It can also enhance user
engagement by providing a
more human-like and
natural conversation
experience.

Limitations
 OpenAI acknowledged that ChatGPT "sometimes writes
plausible-sounding but incorrect or nonsensical answers“
 Limited context awareness
 Lack of real-world knowledge
 Bias in training data
 Inability to understand non-textual inputs
 Limited emotional intelligence
 According to the BBC, as of December 2022, ChatGPT is
not allowed to "express political opinions or engage in
political activism"

Ethical Implications

 The development and use of language

models like chat GPT raises ethical
concerns.
 One concern is the potential for bias
in the data used to train the model.
 There are also concerns about privacy
and data security.
 Experts have called for increased
transparency and accountability in the
development and use of these models.
 Addressing these ethical concerns
will be critical to ensuring that
language models like chat GPT are
developed and used responsibly.
