EFFICIENT WASTE SORTING:
DEVELOPMENT OF A TRASH
CAN FOR SEPARATING
RECYCLABLES AND NON-
RECYCLABLES
RATIONALE
Creating an effective garbage sorting system is crucial in a time when
environmental sustainability is a top priority. Simplifying waste
management is crucial, and it can be achieved by introducing a trash can
made just for sorting recyclables and non-recyclables. Users are empowered
and encouraged to separate their waste at the point of disposal by having
distinct compartments within the trash can, which promotes a culture of
responsible recycling. This innovation lessens the strain on waste
management facilities and lessens the environmental impact associated with
the disposal of mixed waste by making the sorting procedure easier for
individuals and making recycling easier.
Furthermore, the implementation of such a waste sorting solution aligns with
global initiatives aimed at promoting circular economies and reducing landfill
waste. By facilitating the separation of recyclables from non-recyclables at the
source, this specialized trash can optimizes the efficiency of recycling processes,
ensuring that materials can be effectively repurposed and reintegrated into the
production cycle. Additionally, by encouraging proper waste sorting habits
among users, the development of this trash can contributes to broader
sustainability goals by conserving resources, reducing energy consumption, and
mitigating pollution. Ultimately, the creation of an efficient waste sorting system
not only addresses immediate environmental challenges but also lays the
foundation for a more sustainable and resilient future.
METHODS
DEVELOPMENT AND
OPTIMIZATION OF AN ARDUINO-
POWERED SOLAR GRASS CUTTER
WITH ULTRASONIC DISTANCE
SENSOR FOR SUSTAINABLE
LAWN MAINTENANCE
RATIONALE
At the center of efficiency, technology, and sustainability, the research capstone project on
"development and optimization of an Arduino-powered solar grass cutter with ultrasonic
distance sensor for sustainable lawn maintenance" is a trailblazing undertaking. The
project is to transform conventional lawn care procedures by utilizing solar energy and
incorporating cutting-edge sensor technologies, providing a workable substitute that
reduces environmental effect and optimizes efficiency. This project encourages creativity
and technology growth in the landscaping industry in addition to meeting the urgent need
for environmentally friendly solutions. The project aims to provide a grass cutter that is
both configurable and adaptive to various lawn sizes and terrains through study and
optimization. This will ultimately help to promote a more resource-conscious and
sustainable approach to lawn management.
METHODS
THE EFFICACY OF
HOMEMADE BOTANICAL
PESTICIDE FOR
FLOWERS USING CHILI
PEPPERS (CAPSAISIN)
RATIONALE
By harnessing the natural insecticidal properties of chili and black
pepper, this study seeks to provide cost-effective and culturally
relevant solutions for pest management in flower cultivation.
Additionally, exploring homemade botanical pesticides addresses
safety concerns associated with synthetic chemicals while tapping
into traditional knowledge and practices, potentially offering
sustainable alternatives for small-scale flower growers and home
gardeners.
METHODS
EFFICACY OF SUSTAINABLE
FIBERS: ALTERNATIVES TO
BAMBOO FOR ECO-FRIENDLY
PAPER PRODUCTION
RATIONALE
This research explores eco-friendly alternatives to bamboo for
sustainable paper production, aiming to diversify fiber sources.
Through a comprehensive analysis, it assesses environmental
impact, resource efficiency, biodiversity considerations, and
market viability. The goal is to guide the industry towards
adopting environmentally friendly practices by identifying
sustainable fibers with comparable or improved efficacy.
METHODS
Researching eco-friendly alternatives to bamboo for paper production
involves a comprehensive approach. Begin with a literature review to
understand sustainable fiber characteristics. Analyze physical and chemical
properties of alternatives, considering factors like strength. Investigate
environmental impact, including carbon footprints and water usage. Assess
economic feasibility by exploring raw material and processing costs. Look
into successful case studies for insights. Present findings clearly,
potentially using visual aids for effective communication. This systematic
method ensures a well-rounded exploration of sustainable fibers.
