OVERVIEW OF RCF:
 “ RCF’s operation commented from 1978.”
Presently RCF has plants at two locations viz. Trombay , mumbai
and Thal , thal alibag dist rajgad.
 RCF is largest fertilizer and chemical company in Asia with 30
operating plants at trombay and 12 high capacity plants at thal.
 RCF is pioneer and technology leader and it was computerised
in 1970 with IBM 1401.
 RCF has unique distinction of introducing computerised
railway receipts in the country.

expansion, innovation, diversification, and productive
research and development.

AMMONIA-V PLANT
 Introduction:-
Ammonia V was commissioned in 1981 under trombay V
expansion scheme.
Ammonia V has capacity of 900 MTPD and process used was
based on steam reforming on associated gases.
In 1995 revamp purge recovery unit was installed to recover Ar
from associated gases.
In 2006 major revamp was done results in increase in capacity to
1045 MTDP and reduction in specific energy of plant.

UREA-V PLANT
 Urea V was commissioned in 9 October 1981.
 Capacity of plant 1000 MTPD
 Initially plant was controlled by pneumatic control
system, but now upgraded to DCS control system
installed in plant by “HONEWELL” erected by miraj
instruments.
 UREA is called as “nitrogenous” fertilizer.
 For prilling tower is set up height of tower is 90m,
which is a beautiful phenomena.

3] To make wood pliable and resistant.
4] To remove paraffin from diesel.
5] to remove NOx from flue gases.
6] as a plasticizer in paper industry, piping industry.
7] additive in textile industry.
