The Investigative
Judgement
Its Importance
If not real or not Biblical, then:
● EGW is a false prophet and has to go!
● SDA Church being the Remnant would also not be
biblical
● The Question of the Law, particularly the Sabbath
comes into question
● Our understanding of the Mark of the Beast
● Then SDA Church is a Cult

Daniel 2:31-45
31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose
brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and
his thighs of brass,
33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image
upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces
together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind
carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the
image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Daniel 2:31-45
38 …Thou art this head of gold…
39 … And after thee shall arise another kingdom..and another third kingdom of brass
40… And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron..
41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron,
the kingdom shall be divided; …
.
44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which
shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall
break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
Daniel 7:1-28
3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings:..
5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one
side,..
6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it
four wings of a fowl;...
7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible,
and strong exceedingly; …
8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn,
before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold,
in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Daniel 7:1-28
9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose
garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne
was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands
ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the
judgment was set, and the books were opened.
.
.
17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the
earth.
18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom
for ever, even for ever and ever.
Its Importance
If it is Biblical and is real, then:
● EGW is a prophet and can be trusted
● SDA Church being the Remnant is biblical
● The Law is immutable & the the Sabbath shouldn’t
come into question
● Our understanding of biblical prophecies and our
doctrines are correct & they are Truth.
LIVING IN THE
ANTITYPICAL DAY
OF ATONEMENT
The coming of Christ here described (Daniel
7:13, 14) is not his second coming to the earth.
He comes to the Ancient of days in Heaven to
receive dominion, and glory, and a kingdom,
which will be given him at the close of his
work as a mediator. It is this coming, and not
his second advent to the earth, that was
foretold in prophecy to take place at the
termination of the 2300 days, in 1844. GC88
479.3
In the typical service, only those who had
come before God with confession and
repentance, and whose sins, through the blood
of the sin-offering, were transferred to the
sanctuary, had a part in the service of the day
of atonement. So in the great day of final
atonement and investigative Judgment, the
only cases considered are those of the
professed people of God. The judgment of the
wicked is a distinct and separate work, and
takes place at a later period. "Judgment must
begin at the house of God; and if it first begin
at us, what shall the end be of them that obey
not the gospel?" 1 Peter 4:17 GC88 480.1
The books of record in Heaven, in which the
names and the deeds of men are registered, are
to determine the decisions of the Judgment.
Says the prophet Daniel, "The Judgment was
set, and the books were opened." The
Revelator, describing the same scene, adds,
"Another book was opened, which is the book
of life; and the dead were judged out of those
things which were written in the books,
according to their works." Revelation 20:12.
GC88 480.2
Every man's work passes in review before
God, and is registered for faithfulness or
unfaithfulness. Opposite each name in the
books of Heaven is entered, with terrible
exactness, every wrong word, every selfish act,
every unfulfilled duty, and every secret sin,
with every artful dissembling. Heaven-sent
warnings or reproofs neglected, wasted
moments, unimproved opportunities, the
influence exerted for good or for evil, with its
far-reaching results, all are chronicled by the
recording angel. GC88 481.3
Those who in the Judgment are "accounted
worthy," will have a part in the resurrection of
the just. Jesus said, "They which shall be
accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the
resurrection from the dead, ... are equal unto
the angels; and are the children of God, being
the children of the resurrection." Luke 20:35,
36.
And again he declares that "they that have
done good" shall come forth "unto the
resurrection of life." John 5:29. The righteous
dead will not be raised until after the Judgment
at which they are accounted worthy of "the
resurrection of life." Hence they will not be
present in person at the tribunal when their
records are examined, and their cases decided.
GC88 482.2
As the books of record are opened in the
Judgment, the lives of all who have believed
on Jesus come in review before God.
Beginning with those who first lived upon the
earth, our Advocate presents the cases of each
successive generation, and closes with the
living. Every name is mentioned, every case
closely investigated. GC88 483.1
When any have sins remaining upon the books
of record, unrepented of and unforgiven, their
names will be blotted out of the book of life,
and the record of their good deeds will be
erased from the book of God's remembrance.
The Lord declared to Moses, "Whosoever hath
sinned against me, him will I blot out of my
book." Exodus 32:33. And says the prophet
Ezekiel, "When the righteous turneth away
from his righteousness, and committeth
iniquity, ... all his righteousness that he hath
done shall not be mentioned." GC88 483.1
The work of the investigative Judgment and
the blotting out of sins is to be accomplished
before the second advent of the Lord. GC88
485.2
1 John 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also
the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
By His perfect obedience He has made it possible for every
human being to obey God's commandments. When we
submit ourselves to Christ, the heart is united with His heart,
the will is merged in His will, the mind becomes one with
His mind, the thoughts are brought into captivity to Him; we
live His life. This is what it means to be clothed with the
garment of His righteousness. Then as the Lord looks upon
us He sees, not the fig-leaf garment, not the nakedness and
deformity of sin, but His own robe of righteousness, which is
perfect obedience to the law of Jehovah.
COL, 311
It (Justification by Faith) presented justification through faith
in the Surety; it invited the people to receive the
righteousness of Christ, which is made manifest in obedience
to all the commandments of God.
TM, 91, 92
Righteousness within is testified to by righteousness
without… The righteousness by which we are justified is
imputed; the righteousness by which we are sanctified is
imparted. The first is our title to heaven, the second is our
fitness for heaven.

Joel 2
11 And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his
camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for
the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can
abide it?
12 Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with
all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with
mourning:
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto
the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to
anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
Joel 2
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn
assembly:...
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the
elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts:...
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the
porch and the altar,.....
And the publican, standing afar off,
would not lift up so much as his eyes
unto heaven, but smote upon his
breast, saying, God be merciful to
me a sinner.
