CITES Report

CITES is an international agreement between governments to protect endangered plants and animals. It was created in 1973 and aims to ensure the survival of species through regulating international trade. CITES works by classifying species in appendices based on how threatened they are and restricting or banning trade accordingly. In the Philippines, CITES and RA 8550 protect many marine species like dolphins, whales, sharks, seahorses, giant clams, and corals.
