CLICK BAIT
What is it and why is it used
Clickbait is the practice of writing sensationalised or misleading
headlines in order to attract clicks on a piece of content.
Clickbait relies on exaggerating claims or leaving out important
information in order to encourage views.
Clickbait is often used as a derogatory term!
On the whole, clickbait is misleading or sensationalist content
created with the sole purpose of earning page views on a
website.
Clickbait is used by some publishers to drive traffic to their site,
so that they can earn more advertising money and clicks.
Clickbait language is more emotive than informative.
