Effective On-the-Job Training Guide

On-the-job training (OJT) provides employees opportunities to learn practical skills and gain knowledge about how to perform their jobs through hands-on experience. OJT typically takes place internally within a company and involves learning directly from others in a less formal setting than a classroom. It benefits both employees and employers by allowing employees to adapt faster, be more productive, and increase job satisfaction through learning by doing their actual roles. Employers see improved retention and a more effective workforce from OJT. Common types of OJT include orientations, internships, apprenticeships, job rotations, and mentoring programs. Creating an effective OJT program involves identifying training needs, setting requirements and expectations, evaluating progress, and ensuring a safe learning
