Oblique Projection

This document discusses different types of technical drawing projections. It introduces orthographic projection which consists of three views - the elevation, plan, and end view. It then discusses oblique projection which takes the elevation view and extends it at a 45 degree angle to show a 3D perspective. The document notes that house designers typically use 3D views like oblique projection because it is easier for viewers to understand. It then moves into discussing isometric drawing, noting it improves on oblique drawing by keeping horizontal lines at 30 degree angles and keeping vertical lines truly vertical. The document poses some practice questions on oblique and isometric drawing techniques.

Recap
Altogether this makes up
orthographic projection.

What other ways are there of

looking at objects?
Oblique projection
Oblique projection is similar to the
elevation. As it takes the elevation of
an object and then extends it back at
45° either to the right of left

This allows us to get a 3D view of an

object without having to visualise it
from orthographic.
Examples:
Why do House designers show
us a 3D view most times
rather than orthographic
views?
Is it easier to view this?

Lesson Three
 Recap on Oblique drawing (Type of drawing.
 Learn about a new type of 3D drawing technique
called Isometric Drawing.
 Learn how to draw the U2 sign and Fish question
Need for new type
 Sometimes Oblique Drawing doesn’t gives a distorted view or unrealistic
about the object. For example a house!

NEW TYPE
Isometric Drawing

 In Isometric Drawing Horizontal lines are drawn 30

degrees
 And Vertical lines in real life remain vertical in real life.
