EU FLAG
 The EU flag is the symbol of the European
Union and represent the Community
identity.
 The 12 stars have nothing to do with the
numbers of members states.
 Each of the stars has five points, one
which is constantly directed upwards.
 On the blue background are 12 golden
stars in a circle indicating the union of the
European peoples and symbolizes the
ideals of unity, solidarity, and harmony
among the peoples from Europe.
Why was it created?
It was crated after
the World War II to
maintain peace and
strengthen the
Europe.
What are the advantages of being in
the European Union?
 Each nation is allowed to keep their own culture
 Must use the same currency -- makes trading
easier
 The countries are united
 Notaxes are added when trading with other EU
members
 More occupational and educational opportunities
 Citizen's rights are secured
Disadvantages of being in the EU?
 The countries share their wealth
 Trying
to exit the EU is a problem and
extremely difficult, that situation makes
people second guess joining.
 TheEU also has the power over the
governments in the member countries, if they
do not agree with a political leader, they can
simply take them out of their position.
Who are the leaders?
There is no single leader.
There is a president of
council, a president of
commission, and a president
of parliament. These positions
are voted upon.
How do you join the organization?
Any country that follows the conditions for
membership are eligible to apply. Those
conditions are called the “Copenhagen
criteria.” Some of the criteria are, a free-
market economy, stable democracy,
acceptance of all EU legislation. A country
may submit an application to the European
council, which will pass through to the
commission department for assent.

POLITICAL
EU as support for populist,
nationalist, and anti-EU political
parties has risen, and core aspects of
European integration – including the
single currency, the free movement of
people, and the single market – are
under attack.
ECONOMIC
The economic and financial crisis has
revealed a number of weaknesses in the
economic governance of the EU's economic
and monetary union. To ensure the
economic wellbeing of the citizens of the
EU, the European Commission has among its
key priorities to returning to sustainable
levels of growth and employment while
ensuring financial stability and stable public
finances.
SOCIO CULTURAL
The EU works to preserve Europe's
shared cultural heritage and to support
and promote the arts and creative
industries in Europe. Specific initiatives,
like the European Year of Cultural
Heritage, are dedicated to make this
vibrant and diverse culture accessible to
everyone.
TECHNO SCIENIFIC
 The European Union created a renewable electricity policy
pathways in 2030, that makes them energy cheap and
healthy in our environment and some are highlight to their
policy that they make:
o Pathways of a harmonized European policy framework for
renewable electricity in 2030.
o Two main dimensions: degrees of harmonization and instruments.
o A quantitative model-based analysis based on the Green-X model.
o Small differences between the pathways regarding the
effectiveness criterion.
o Important differences between pathways regarding other
assessment criteria.
ENVIRONMENTAL
 EU citizens benefit from some of the highest environmental
standards in the world. The EU and national governments
have set clear objectives to guide European environment
policy until 2020 and a vision beyond that, of where to be by
2050, with the support of dedicated research programmes,
legislation and funding:

 protect, conserve and enhance the EU’s natural capital


 turn
the EU into a resource-efficient, green, and
competitive low-carbon economy
 safeguard EU citizens from environment-related pressures
and risks to health and wellbeing
SECURITY
The European Union always look the better
opportunity within their members and also
they expand their opportunity not only for the
member but also they open the opportunity to
outside borders that makes their economy
grow and strong. The Common Security and
Defence Policy (CSDP) is an integral part of EU
foreign policy. Through its military operations
and civilian missions, the EU has contributed
to regional and global stability.
