Context and Rationale (Action)/Introduction of the Research
(Basic)

 Contains the comprehensive description of the

problem/situation; includes desired condition and
discrepancy between situations; and includes
literature that supports the claim for the conduct
of the study.
 The existence of problem is supported by the local
data/information.
 Composes of 2 to 3 pages
 May follow suggested format: situation analysis,
finding gap, relating to literature, and proposing
solution.
Innovation, Intervention, and Strategy (Action)
 Clearly states the name and explains the nature
of the intervention, reason, extent, and limitation
of the intervention.
 Itexplains how the intervention will change the
current behavior affected by the existence of the
problem.
 State theories as basis of the significance and
existence of the intervention to be used.
 May support research findings as to the
effectiveness of the intervention.
Review of Literature (for Basic/Applied)

 Discusses the related concepts, theories, legal

basis, and findings that will support the study
 Literatureis arranged by topics relevant to the
study (may include sub-headings following the
APA heading format)
 Includes the summary of literature and reviews
Action Research Questions (Action)/ Research
Questions (Basic)

 States the research questions to be answered by

the study logically.
 For action research, states the
performance/behavior before, after, difference
or relationship if any, then the action plan.
 For basic research, states the descriptive
questions, followed by inferential questions,
and questions for policy recommendation or
propose output to be undertaken based on the
result of the study.
Scope and Limitation (for Basic)

Discusses the coverage and limitation of the

study.

participants of the study as to the number,
group of origin, characteristics, selection
procedure (sampling), and justification for
their inclusion in the study.
Data Gathering Methods (for Action) Data Collection (for Basic)

 Explainsthe significance and alignment of the

data gathering method to the nature of the
problem and research questions
 Discusses the research design, validity and
reliability of the instruments used
 Presents logically how data was collected and
analyzed using appropriate data analysis tool.
Ethical Issues
 Discusses the process of gathering accurate
scientific knowledge.
 Discusses the process of protecting the rights and
welfare of the participants.

Proposal
“This world is slowly transitioning from
the material to the immaterial, from the
superficial to the authentic, from tangible to
intangible. Knowledge will be prime real
estate. Researchers are the next billionaires;
even when that is not taken to mean
“materially rich” at least, our riches, nobody
else can take from us.” – Dr. Bryan Mari Argos

everyone!
