INTRODUCTION
 Earlier rajasthan called as Rajputana.
 Rajasthan has an area of 3,42,274 sq.km and is
the largest state of country.
 It is situated in west of India.
 Rajasthan is bounded on the west by west
Pakistan. On the north by Haryana, Punjab and
the the union territory of Delhi. On the east by
U.P. and M.P. and on the south by Gujarat.
 The western frontier consists Thar or the
great Indian desert.
 Aravallis divided Rajasthan into two
geographical divisions.

Rajasthani Attire
• Traditionally men
wear dhotis, kurta, angarkha and paggar or safa (kind
of turban headgear). Traditional Chudidar payjama (puckered
trousers) frequently replaces dhoti in different regions. Women
wear ghagra (long skirt) and kanchli (top). However, dress
style changes with lengths and breaths of vast Rajasthan.
• Traditional attire for Rajasthani women is ghagra, choli (also
called kanchli or kurti) and odhni. The ghagra is a full-length,
embroidered and pleated skirt, which comes in a variety of
colours, prints and fabrics, such as silk, cotton, georgette and
crêpe.

TEXTILE, PRINTING AND
HANDICRAFT
Textiles of Rajasthan will be seen with the printings of blocks
in badhini fabric comprising of rich and vibrant colors. The
saris are created out of printed and dyed fabric bejeweled with
mirror work and embroidery.
A spin-off of tourism has been the growth of the handicrafts
industry.
MUSIC AND DANCE
The soul of Rajasthan can be found in its traditional dance and
music that has been entrenched in the roots of the culture of

JEWELLERY OF RAJASTHAN
The state is known for its famous elegant traditional jewelry
which has been in existence since the period of Mewar and till
today holds its importance. One of the special forms of
jewelry found in Rajasthan is Meenakari.
RAJASTHANI CUISINE
Rajasthan is well versed with its art of cuisine with the lavish
style of culinary skills in the local people. Some of the
delectable cuisines of Rajasthan are Dal bati churma, Kair
Sangri, govind gatta, papad ki sabzi, alu mangori etc.

The land of Rajasthan explore the wild wonders of the state,
which has been sprawled over an area of about 3,42,000 sq
km, situated in north-west part of India. The largest state of
the country proudly hosts remarkably rich and exotic wildlife.
