ABSTRACT
The physical classroom learning nowadays is no longer applicable for the current younger
generations. Internet and distance learning which is generally known as online education plays a
vital roles in the country's education system. It is undeniable that online education provides ample of
benefits to young learners.
Nevertheless, there are also many negative implications from online education. Limited
collaborative learning, increase in time and effort are the several negative implications from online
education.
INTRODUCTION
Introduction to Online Learning introduces first-time distance learners to the realities of Web-based
education and serves as the most comprehensive, practical guide to achieving success when facing
online-specific barriers as well as common academic hurdles. Written by an experienced instructor,
this invaluable aid shows students how to overcome challenges related to e-mail communication,
technological catastrophes, staying organized on a daily basis, and more. Students learn to take
advantage of the unique resources available for those enrolled in internet-based programs and to
make the most of their Web-based educational experience by tailoring it to their personal strengths,
needs, and learning styles.
LITERATURE SURVEY
Despite the enormous growth of e-learning in education and its perceived benefits, the efficiency of
such tools will not be fully utilized if the users inclined to not accept and use the system. Therefore,
the successful implementation of e-learning tools depends on whether or not the students are willing
to adopt and accept the technology. Thus, it has become imperative for practitioners and policy
makers to understand the factors affecting the user acceptance of web-based learning systems in
order to enhance the students’ learning experience.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
•The main purpose of education is to achieve upward mobility. Online courses certification
programs have been able to provide inexpensive education to the masses and also save time, energy
and money.
•Electronic-learning through certified online courses provides a wide range of courses that caters to
the core interests of the student, thus creating a fertile arena for future advancement.
•There is a misplaced notion, that employers prefer students with traditional brick and mortar
college degrees. On the contrary, corporate organizations in India are recognizing the high skill
levels of students who have undergone online courses certification programs from highly acclaimed
educational institutions.
HARDWARE & SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT
Hardware requirement :
• System: Pentium IV 2.4 GHz.
• Hard Disk :40 GB.
• Ram: 2 GB.
Software requirement :
• Operating system : Windows XP/7
• Coding Language: PHP.
• IDE : PhpStorm.
• Front End: PHP.
• Back End: SQL Server 2014 Management Studio
ADVANTAGES
1. Efficiency
Online learning offers teachers an efficient way to deliver lessons to students. Online learning
has a number of tools such as videos, PDFs, podcasts, and teachers can use all these tools as
part of their lesson plans. By extending the lesson plan beyond traditional textbooks to
include online resources, teachers are able to become more efficient educators.
2. Accessibility Of Time And Place
Another advantage of online education is that it allows students to attend classes from any
location of their choice. It also allows schools to reach out to a more extensive network of
students, instead of being restricted by geographical boundaries. Additionally, online lectures
can be recorded, archived, and shared for future reference.
3. Affordability
Another advantage of online learning is reduced financial costs. Online education is far more
affordable as compared to physical learning. This is because online learning eliminates the
cost points of student transportation, student meals, and most importantly, real estate.
Additionally, all the course or study materials are available online.
DISADVANTAGES
1. Inability To Focus On Screens
For many students, one of the biggest challenges of online learning is the struggle with
focusing on the screen for long periods of time. With online learning, there is also a
greater chance for students to be easily distracted by social media or other sites.
Therefore, it is imperative for the teachers to keep their online classes crisp, engaging,
and interactive to help students stay focused on the lesson.
2. Technology Issues
Another key challenge of online classes is internet connectivity. While internet
penetration has grown in leaps and bounds over the past few years, in smaller cities and
towns, a consistent connection with decent speed is a problem. Without a consistent
internet connection for students or teachers, there can be a lack of continuity in learning
for the child. This is detrimental to the education process.
3. Sense Of Isolation
Students can learn a lot from being in the company of their peers. However, in an
online class, there are minimal physical interactions between students and teachers.
This often results in a sense of isolation for the students.
APPLICATIONS
College
· School
· University
FUTURE SCOPE
Online learning gives understudies access to innovation like virtual reality. With virtual
simulations, the class can investigate puts everywhere throughout the world without leaving the
study hall. Online learners can likewise meet understudies from different parts of the world in
virtual reality.
CONCLUSION
Online learning is beneficial to the students, tutors and the institution offering these courses. I would
therefore recommend that online learning be implemented on all learning institutions and research on
how to improve this learning process should be carried out.
